Need to Edit a Document? DocHub

We all have those files that teachers send us that we can’t edit on their own, like PDFs.  A good way to edit those files is with an app called DocHub.  After downloading the app from the Chrome Store, you can upload the file you wish to edit to the new app, either from the file itself, or from the app.  From there, you need to select that you want to start editing it.  You will also need to make sure to select the capital “A” to be able to type your text.  In order from the text tool, you can also draw, highlight, comment, whiteout, stamp, add a picture, and sign.  To save it to your Drive, you will need to go to the upper right hand corner where the file button it and save it to your Drive.  Next time you go into DocHub, the file you edited will be saved under a tab on the left called Documents.  This is the best way to edit those files that teachers send you that can’t be easily edited, and it can broaden the teacher’s’ ability to give documents to students via Classroom.

Why to Use Google Calender

Google Calendar is a way to organize and keep track of any schedule.  Like any Google App, it can be accessed by multiple devices given you are logged on to your account.  This calendar can also be shared in a variety of ways and can access other Google Apps you may have and can be customized to fit your life.  There is also the ability to create multiple calendars to keep track of different types of events, which can also sync with each other.  This App will notify you when your event is coming up.  Calendars have the ability to create a Hangout for video calls, allows you to attach a file, and accepts invitations in one click.  Google Calendars are a great way to stay organized, whether you are a student, teacher, or administrator.

Screenshots Using a Chromebook

Whenever you are wanting to screenshot a browser page, a picture, an email, etc. all you have to do is hold down the control button on the left or right side of your keyboard and the multi-window button at the very top middle of your keyboard that looks like a square with two lines on the right side. This will take a picture of whatever is currently pulled up on your screen and it will save it in the downloaded section of your files. To access files, click the magnifying glass in the bottom left of your taskbar. Then search for files and select it. There will also be a small pop-up that will appear in the bottom right of your screen in the taskbar, next to the time. It will be a gray square with 1 inside of it if you have taken one screenshot. The number will reflect the number of screenshots you have taken. If you click this, it will say “Click to view your screenshot” or “Copy to clipboard”. You can then either view it or copy it. After you have finished with the notification pop-up, there will be an x in the top right corner. Click this in order to close the pop-up.

Best Extensions for Students

Okay, so the first thing you need to do to download an extension is to open chrome, go to the address bar and type https://chrome.google.com/webstore

After you are at the webstore you can type in the search bar on the top left.

1. myHomework – myHomework is a great student planner that can help students stay on top of their school work in any class.

2. Notebook – This app is an outstanding organizer for class notes, and is also very user friendly.

3. Gliffy diagrams – Gliffy is a great app to create diagrams for projects, presentations, etc. It offers a variety of templets to use, and it even works offline!

4. Calculator – Calculator by offered by scientific-calculator.appspot.com is a great digital calculator, and offers a lot more functions than a traditional calculator.

To add these extensions to chrome all you need to do is click “add to chrome”

As a utility app, LastPass saves all your passwords and important notes on a single app, the app, and your account can be accessed from any device, as long as you log into your account. Along with saving passwords, LastPass can also save important notes like bank account information, credit cards, or even insurance. With iPhones, you can even seal it with your Touch-ID!
