Chrome Squad

The purpose of the Chrome Squad is to provide outstanding customer service to Royse City High School and the community.

History

Connected for Learning and the high school program, Chrome Squad, originated 10 years ago as a solution to a need that was identified during district strategic planning. We quickly came to realize that our graduating students were lacking in important technology skills.

Mission

The Chrome Squad coordinates the 1:1 technology initiative at RCHS. Roles include inventory, repair, tech tips and professional development production for staff. The success of the Chrome Squad has attracted visitors from dozens of school districts of all sizes from across the United States. Chrome Squad students have been invited to tour Google Headquarters, Dell Headquarters and hold presentations to thousands of educators. Under the direction of Angela Arledge, the Chrome Squad has become a model program for schools wishing to boost technology integration in the classroom.

Impact on It’s Members

Chrome Squad leaves a lasting impact on our student interns. They learn professionalism from being in a work environment in the C4L Lounge. Customer service is at the core of our organization so interns gain knowledge in how to effectively communicate both verbally and nonverbally.

“Chrome Squad has provided us with many opportunities to serve our campus and community. We’re thankful for all we’ve learned!”-CJ and Caroline
